Like many companies in the B2B world, the last shipping day of the month at Columbus Chemical Industries can sometimes be pretty jam-packed.

As we close in on our final shipping day of September, in recognition of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week which occurred earlier this month (September 9-15), we would like to take a moment to share our appreciation for the truck drivers that are there with us on those busiest of days.

Career drivers fulfill such an essential role in our economy and provide the skill and experience to fulfill that role safely and securely, amid demanding and stressful conditions.

With over 75% of our freight qualifying as DOT HAZMAT, CCI also relies heavily on drivers with a HAZMAT endorsement on their CDL. HAZMAT endorsed drivers hold an even greater responsibility in providing secure transport of goods. Hauling highly corrosive acids, poisons, and flammable materials requires drivers who are aware of the risks and proper hauling requirements and limitations. In case of potential incidents, HAZMAT drivers are also required to provide quick response appropriate to a wide range of scenarios, from spills to security threats.
