Nitric Acid Distillation Process
Starting with 70% technical grade nitric acid, our four nitric acid distillation units run continuously to purify the acid to sub-PPB levels on all trace metals. Dedicated high purity nitric acid holding tanks allow us to store lot-controlled purified nitric acid for use in packaging as Nitric Acid 70%, as well as pull material for high purity nitric acid dilutions and high purity acid blends. The nitric acid holding tanks allow us to continue our distillation processes without creating downtime between lots, resulting in optimal lead times and scheduling flexibility.
High Purity Nitric Acid Packaging and Use
Packaging performed from the holding tank is done in a cleanroom packaging environment to keep the acid purity consistent from tank to final package size. Nitric acid is packaged into poly or PVC coated glass bottles, and returnable or one-way drums and totes. Our in-house full-color label production equipment and software allow us to offer private label options for high purity nitric acid for distribution as well. Our regulatory and technical staff help with label design to ensure full compliance with DOT and GHS labelling requirements. High purity distilled nitric acid can also be arranged via tank-wagon / isotainer.
